Yes that is belly dancing. Belly dancing is not just all about the isolation in your hips it’s about the way you move to the beat and the ways u move your body
While she’s a good dancer, she’s not belly dancing. It can be learned but not everyone CAN do it. Regardless of weight, it’s about isolation technique and she doesn’t have it.

bellydancing is more of a heart and soal dance. You have to feel the music and be able to move your body in a special way. Nothing to do with muscles of fat. Some girls can do it, others can´t

I’ve been belly dancing since I was 5 (I’m Egyptian) and I have to agree with Nouffff1. Belly dancing isn’t about the fat, it’s about muscle control.
nah sometimes you just got to wear heels especially in restaurants cause you can step in broken glass or whatever else is on a floor like that. umm turkish dancers are known for wear extreme high heels too like didem which to me at times are way too high!
hell i’m bored watching it, she is such a stiff dancer! and this solo is too damn easy put a faster beat to it cause issam is an awesome percussionist but maybe this is all she can do honestly :p

Hihi, have you seen this method called the Fat Blast Furnace? (check google). My uncle says it helps people lose weight faster.
Seen lots of comments like this but it’s only in Egyptian style that it’s less common to see dancers in heels. Even then I’ve seen dancers in Cairo in heels and footage of everyone from Samia Gamal to the (female!) Reda troupe dancers in them too. Baladi and folk suit bare feet but Oriental style is often demi-pointe so a low heel makes little difference and often barely touches the floor. A high heel distorts both posture & moves – but that’s not prevented a Lebanese trend for ultra high heels!

When you wear heels, you cant move right at all, it goes though feet and hips and stomach movement! Feet first>hips next then stomach!!

My grandmother taught me how to belly dance and it is was more difficult than it seems. I always thought it consisted of moving your hips but there is a lot of technique that goes into it. It took me a while to learn how to do it properly.
